Notre maison

My cottage is the middle one of three. This building, built c.1850, used to be the dairy for Congleton when it housed a heavy horse and cart for delivering the milk locally. My brick store and yard, at the back, was the stable for the horse!
The building was converted 30 years ago to these 3 white rendered cottages. Mine is a small simple comfortable colourful, 2 up 2 down, thats a very English expression, cottage. It has a warm energy to it and you will get a feel of a real English town from here. The lounge and log burner is very relaxing, and the kitchen is great for cooking and eating. The bathroom is compact, with bath and shower over, but very functional. Plenty of hot water and easy clothes drying. The cottage is comfortable in any weather, which is great in England!! Cool in summer and warm in winter. Solid floors downstairs and carpets for comfort on the stairs and bedrooms.
My bedroom has a 5 foot double bed with high quality mattress and quilt and large wardrobe space. I use the second bedroom as my office, although it does have a single bed for visitors.
Parking for my car is immediately in front, and at the back I have a very private patio with plants in pots, table and chairs and BBQ and washing line and access through my brick shed with bikes to the street.
It is a great cosy comfortable and convenient place to live.
My mother lives 300 metres away from me.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. I am a very well travelled lady and I currently lead tour groups on walking holidays all over the world for Ramblers Worldwide Holidays. I used to work and manage sports centres and swimming pools etc. I lived and worked in south Warwickshire (Royal Leamington Spa, Stratford upon Avon) for half my adult life.
I consider Cheshire my home, as I went to school in the next town and all my family are still here and many friends. I returned here 3 years ago to be nearer my Mum as she is 80 now, and I had had a lot of ill health too. I have enjoyment from each and every day and live life to the full. I can be very flexible on dates as its easy to move out for a few weeks to give you space, or your dates may coincide with my absence on tour, so lots of options.
I love cycling walking dancing outdoor swimming drawing and people.
I would love to help you get a true local Cheshire/English experience from my home.

Localisation

Quartier

Population of the town of Congleton is only 25,000. The area is quiet and very safe and secure. You can walk to everything you need for a good life. The best butchers shop is only 200 metres away and the best bike shop only 100. Swimming pool and gym and pubs and cafes and supermarkets and beautiful lakeside walk all within 10mins on foot.
It is a very established and traditional northern market town. The local people are very friendly and you will hear some very different accents over a geographical area of 20 miles. Cheshire is a lovely county with plenty of beautiful attractions including Chester, Jodrell Bank observatory, Little Moreton Hall timbered moated house, and many stately homes and castles and industrial heritage, to visit within an hour by car. Staffordshire and Derbyshire are also close to Congleton by car and encompase Buxton and the Peak District National Park, great for walking, as is the area very local to Congleton.
Manchester 30 mins, and London, 2 hours are accessible by train. I will help get cheap train tickets for London by buying in advance here.
The Lake District is 2 hours by car and one of the most beautiful mountain and lakes areas to explore on foot or bike, in the world. I know because Ive been to most. North Wales mountains are less than 2 hour by car. I can set you up for camping if you like to.
