Notre maison

Although not perfect our home is cosy, clean and practical. On the ground floor there is a kitchen with a breakfast bar, a separate dining room, with a small library of books and music and an upright piano. This room opens out on to a sheltered terrace where you can play table tennis or enjoy a barbecue. The garden leads onto woods. The lounge is simply but comfortably furnished with sofa and an open gas fire. There is also on the ground floor a cloakroom. Upstairs there is a bath/shower, bidet and toilet plus another separate shower. There are two double bedrooms, one single bedroom and one office/ occasional bedroom. There are views to woodland from nearly every room.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. My wife is a retired teacher and I am now retired from my role as chairman of an environmental reasearch and education foundation, although I am still a town councillor for the ward in which we live. We have an old 2 bedroomed cottage in Brittany France, not far from Mont St Michel which could be part of the house exchange. We first started house swopping 33 years ago with a family in Pau and are in the process of a non simultaneous exchange with a family in Brisbane and a couple in Auckland. We have already agreed to exchange homes with a couple in Maine late September/early October 2007
and are looking for a non simultaneous exchange either before or after this period in Southern USA eg Charleston.

There is good woodland walking to be had from the garden or the front door - 15 min walk to the Victorian seaside resort of Clevedon, often used for filming period films, a national nature reserve, and Clevedon Court (a Tudor manor open to the public). We are 8 min drive to the M5 motorway. London Airport is only 120min drive away, while there are direct daily coaches to London Victoria (about 3 hours) from the centre of Clevedon and the nearest railway station, Yatton, has direct fast trains to London Paddington (about 2 hours). There are numerous places of interest within 20 miles: from Tynsfield Manor house and estate, to Cheddar Gorge, as well as shops, restaurants and theatres either in Clevedon or nearby Weston super Mare or Bristol. Within one hours drive you can reach either Exeter, Bath, Cardiff, Gloucester or Swindon.
