Notre maison

Our home is modern, comfortable, clean and spacious. We have a fully fitted kitchen which leads onto a bright conservatory/dining room. The lounge is large and homely with double aspect windows giving wide views to the sea and to the thatched cottages nestling in the valley below. French windows lead onto the sunny terrace with gorgeous sea views. We have four bedrooms, three of which also have sea views. There are two newly updated bathrooms, one with a shower and the other with a bath and shower.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We are a married couple, Mark and Nicky, both in our early fifties. We have three sons of our own and are foster parents to a younger boy and girl. In 2016 only the two youngest will be likely to travel with us. Mark is a sales manager and Nicky is a retired teacher. We share the house with my parents who live downstairs in a completely independent appartment. All our previous exchange partners have enjoyed meeting them and benefitted from their local knowledge. We also have two Jack Russell Terriers who will live with my parents during your stay. We have successfully completed eight house exchanges, six in France, two in the USA and one in Greece. We love the opportunity to experience another culture as a native, and allow another family to borrow our life for a while.

Cadgwith is a typical Cornish fishing village which nestles in a wooded valley three miles from the Lizard (the most southerly point of the British mainland.) The village has a welcoming pub, two cafes, a gallery and general shop. Freshly caught fish is available throughout the summer. There is a fishing beach and a bathing beach separated by a rocky outcrop known as The Todden. The surrounding area has many unspoiled, sandy beaches ideal for swimming and surfing. The Lizard Peninsula has many activities on offer, including sailing, golf, horse-riding, diving and walking the Cornish Coastal Path. There is a theme park, Flambards, ten miles away and there are many local restaurants ranging from pub grub to upmarket a la carte.
