Notre maison

Out of over 13,000 houses and apartments on this web site ours is the only Oast House! This is a restored farm building set in the garden of England which was formerly used to dry hops for the production of fine English beer and ales. The Oast house was restored and converted into a 3 bedroom family home just over 8yrs ago and is full of character and unique features which make this a truly unusual house to spend time in and explore the southeast of England.
The Oast house has 3 bedrooms one of which is in the roundel and can comfortably sleep 6-8 adults. The Oast is a few minutes walk from the main farm house and we have rented the Oast to many families from as far away as Australia and Singapore, with many guest coming back again and again to enjoy the tranquility of the house and its picturesque location in "The garden of England".(for further information visit our website. En savoir plus sur nous

  1. Sallie and Ross are in our 40's and have 4 children, our oldest son Ben (25) is an estate agent living in London, Roberta (Bertie) (19) is on a gap year and traveling the world, Callum (17) is at boarding School in Canterbury, our local cathedral city, and our youngest Finley (8) is still at home with us and at the local primary school.
Ross has a number of business interest in Central Europe and is now semi retired while Sallie manages the Oast house lettings, the house and our small holding with pigs, sheep, chickens and extensive vegetable gardens.
We are happy to exchange the Oast house at any time of the year, but would prefer to be able to use another property during January to March as this is our least busy time and we seek a little sun.
Our eldest son is becoming a keen skier and if the exchange could be used for a weeks skiing for us that would also be great. Subject to availability we can allow the Oast house to be used at any time of the year in exchange.
PS if you don't require a swap we are always happy to consider letting the property.

The Oast house is located in one of Kents designated areas of natural beauty and overlooks arable fields and woodlands, with plenty of walks through the woods including part of the "Saxon Shore Way". one of the pilgrim routes from medieval days. Access is via a private drive way and the property is secluded and quite. The local village has its own butchers, baker and post office/general store and 2-3 English pubs within easy walking distance.
For the more adventurous, from the market town of Ashford (10mins away) you can take the new high speed train which will whisk you into central London in only 37 minutes, to enjoy all the attractions of the capital city. The high speed rail link will also take you to Paris in 2hrs and Brussels, or alternatively you can use the Channel tunnel which is 20 minutes drive away and explore France by car and be back in time for tea!!. So you can use the house as base to relax in peace and quiet and enjoy Rural Kent with all our historic castles, gardens and historic villages and towns but day trip to London, Paris and Brussels.
