Notre maison

Our home dates back to around 1890, when it was first used in the village as a chapel. Since then it has had a number of uses until we converted it to our home around 11 years ago. We have maintained many of its original features but have also now given it a contemporary feel. It has a large modern kitchen/dining room, a large modern and light sitting room and separate playroom with small pool table and double sofa bed. It also has 4 bedrooms (2 double and 2 single, one of which is ensuite and a main bathroom. Our house has all mod-cons, a play station 3, wii and children toys and games are available. Outside we have a south facing garden with sunny patio and enclosed garden. We also have a large private parking area at the rear of our property. We would also be happy to include our Audi A4 estate in the exchange.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. Our family consists of 4. Bruce and Rachael (both 42), Hannah aged 16 and Robbie aged 14. We lead very active lives and make full use of all the facilities we have to hand. My husband is self employed as an antique restorer (hence there are many antiques in our house!) and I work part-time managing a service supporting witnesses in our local courts. However, having 2 children at school can restricted us as to when we can travel but we love getting any offers! We are a very relaxed, easy going family and we want any one who stays in our house to treat it like their own, however we are very respectful of others homes and promise to take care of it. We are both non-smokers and love animals.

Localisation

Quartier

We think our village of Beckington is perfect. It is quiet but not too quiet. We have 2 pubs, a fabulous deli providing excellent wine, gifts and food (to eat in & out), 2 community tennis courts, a well equiped park and playing field and within a 5 minute walk you have a shop which can provide you with essentials both day & night. We are in the heart of the village but off the main road which means it is peaceful. It is in a rural location and surrounded by wonderful countryside which means we have endless great walks on our doorstep plus 2 adult & 2 kids bikes available in shed! However we are less than 9 miles away from the historic city of Bath, famous for its architecture and Roman Baths.. check out www.visitbath.co.uk and www.thermaebathspa.com. As well as that we are near to many other attractions such as Stonehenge, Glastonbury Tor, Wookey Hole, Wells Cathedral, Longleat, the Cotswolds and many National Trust properties to name but a few. The south coast is less than an hour and a half drive away. London is only a journey of hour and half by train and we have a station in Frome only 8 minutes drive away. Frome is our nearest town (only 5 mins away) which holds a weekly market and has many individual shops and several galleries, it also boast its own independant cinema. We really are spoilt for choice in this area for things to do. See www.beckington.org.uk.
