The villa is one of 8 sharing a large pool. generally only 3/4 are occupied at any one time, and I am one of only two permanent residents. Mine is set behind the pool at the back with a secluded shaded patio, with lemon, banana and amber trees. The bouganvillea and olleanders are beautiful for 8/9 months of the year. I have a dog - lucy, and 3 cats polly, cassie and mumu that I would like to leave in situe but they could be cared for elsewhere.
I also have a 33ft yacht in marmaris, which experienced sailors would be welcome to use.
I am over 50, though I don't always admit it. Single now, I have been twice married, not very good at it obviously. I have a son who lives in England and I still have a house there, but I now live mostly in turkey, with my dog and 3 cats. I managed to retire early from my job as a marketing director, now I paint, write for local and national newspapers (you can see some on my blog http://sailbroard.blogspot.com,) and love walking and sailing, which has been a passion for 30 years.
Dalyan is a small village/town set on the river which leads in one direction to the protected Iztuzu beach, nesting home for the loggerhead turtles, and in the other direction to Koycegiz (pronounced Kurgiz) lake, Apart from the small town of Koycegiz and the ottoman spa baths the lakeside is unspoilt. Both beach and lake can be reached by river boat or car. Dalyan is a tourist village but there are no large hotels and no buildings are allowed over 2 stories. The small high street and river frontage are mostly restaurants and small shops. The locals are very friendly and charming, and Turkish waiters love to flirt !
Dalaman airport is about 30 mins away, and the port of Marmaris is about 1 1/4 hrs drive away. The whole Dalyan river delta area is surrounded by mountains. The sun shines from april to october, whilst it can get very hot in july and august , it is not humid, and shade, air con and the meltemi wind, arriving like clockwork at 12.30/1.00 each day, alleviate the heat.
In walking distance are the ruins of Kaunos, 2000 years old with a stunning ampitheatre, and the lycian rock tombs, 6000 yrs old burial 'palaces'of ancient kings.
