Notre maison

The buildings are set in woodlands surrounded by a private road ensuring privacy. The chalets are designed to provide open plan living with lots of latticework, mosaics in bathrooms and a most original pool built between the bedrooms and living area. Bird feeders encourage the bird life living in the surrounding woodlands to visit the house daily. The three bedrooms situated near the pool all have a veranda set amongst the trees. The fourth bedroom is near the living area. Two bedrooms have en suite bathrooms. We have two sitting rooms: one downstairs with the kitchen and dining room and the other upstairs, more private with a hammock and a computer. We have a car that is available, a cleaner who comes in once a week and a handyman for two days per week. Beaches are ten or twenty minutes away; Scarborough, the main town is within walking distance. The house is very much a part of the environment and offers the opportunity to live with nature.
The house is equipped with high speed Internet and WiFi.
Mark is English and Zena is Trinidadian, both of us are retired and we have lived in the house which we built ourselves for 18 years. Our children are mostly in the UK and we want a holiday which we can enjoy with them.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. Mark is a retired English Science and Photography teacher. Zena, a Trinidadian literature teacher, having worked in London with the London Language and literacy Unit, set up and still runs the Tobago Institute of Literacy. Together we have children (and grand children) who live in London and Cambridge. Mark has a very wide knowledge of Tobago both in terms of geography and cuisine (he has published a Cookery book together with a Tobagonian market chef)

The house is in an area in which neighbours have one or two acres of land. At the bottom of the hill on which the house is situated is a small local community. This adjoins the main road into Scarborough, the capital of Tobago. There are two groceries, and a fruit stall at the junction into Scarborough. Further down, just off the main street is an excellent restaurant. Both Caribbean and Atlantic beaches are within easy reach both by car and by public transport. Golf courses are also close by. Tobago offers a wide range of sports activities, from excellent snorkeling and diving to horse back riding and hiking.
