Notre maison

Seaview, bright, cosy apartment with independent balcony in chic MONTE ESTORIL, a few steps from the beach and only 30 minutes by train from LISBON. Excellent location for a couple wishing to spend quality time by the sea.

Also, for those interested in ARGENTINA, I may offer a house with garden right outside BUENOS AIRES and/or an apartment in MAR DEL PLATA - Argentina's most famous city by the sea - located three blocks from the beach.

  1. Patricio Ferrari left Argentina for the United States at the age of sixteen, and since then has lived in India, France, Italy, Germany, Portugal, England, and Sweden. His work as poet, translator, editor, and critic bridges a life between languages. In the spring of 2017 he will complete an MFA in poetry from Brown University. "Nomad Books," his first multilingual full-length collection of poetry, is expected to be published in 2017. He has an on-going collaboration with the Endangered Language Alliance (ELA), an independent non-profit organization based in New York City and the only organization in the world focused on the immense linguistic diversity of urban areas.

The beach in Monte Estoril (along the boardwalk) is at a 5-minute walk from the apartment. On the 2.5-km. boardwalk that extends to Cascais - a fancy fishermen town - you can jog, rollerblade, go for a walk, have a coffee or an ice cream, read a book or enjoy fresh fish for lunch/dinner. The nearest beach is ideal for children because the sea is normally calm and the sand is smooth. An amazing beach with dunes (Praia do Guincho) is only at a 15-minute car ride from the house. You can also get there by bike for there are several bike stands where you can borrow bikes. The Casino in Estoril (the largest one in Europe) is just at a 5-minute car ride from the house. Lisbon is at a 25-minute train ride from Estoril (the train ride coasts the sealine). The train station is only at an 8-minute walk from the house. In Lisbon you can find fine restaurants by the river Tagus and a wide range of cultural events as well as places to visit including the medieval part of the city Alfama, Europe's biggest Oceanarium, and much more. Near Estoril. Within a 20 minutes car ride there is the historical town of Sintra where Lord Byron once stayed. In his "Childe Harold's Pilgrimage" the English poet called Sintra the "glorious Eden."
