Notre maison

Centrally located house, with a magnificent view over Oslo, and a secluded private garden.

Situated on the calm and leafy Ekeberg hill, a 20 minute walk from the new Opera House on the waterfront. Frequent tram and bus connections close to the house. From the nearby tram and bus stops, Oslo city centre is 7-8 min away.

The house is listed as a protected building under the Norwegian Cultural Heritage Act, as are the neighbouring wooden houses and a park just outside our garden, as rare examples of the wooden houses common in Oslo in older times.

The house has a very spacious living room with a mezzanine and splendid views over Oslo city centre and the surrounding hills; dining room and kitchen opening on to a large porch catching the morning sun; two upstairs bedrooms, one of which opens on to a spacious balcony catching the evening sun, with views over the Opera, Royal Palace, innermost parts of the Oslo fjord, etc.; a large downstairs bedroom; a bathroom with bathtub and separate shower; a separate WC on the top floor. Outside, there is a private secluded garden. Parking for two cars. Several bicycles are available for your use.

The new city beach, Sørenga Seawater Beach, is within walking distance, or less than 10 min biking. The point of embarkation for the network of Oslo fjord ferries is less than thirty minutes away by public transport. Using these ferries, several small islands can conveniently and cheaply be reached, many of which have beaches. The water temperature in the Oslo fjord often reaches a respectable 20C or more in the summer.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We are a family of four. Our two daughters are aged ten and seven. The father works as an associate professor, and the mother as a medical doctor. We have had six previous exchanges to various regions of Spain and France, all of which have been hugely enjoyable.

Charming neighbourhood of small wooden houses and low appartment buildings.

Immediately above our house, less than hundred meters walking, you can enter the Ekeberg woods, with the newly opened Sculpture park (http://ekebergparken.com/en ). The Ekeberg woods also offers great walking paths, panorama views over the Oslo fjord, a nice restaurant and several cafes, an open farm with several kinds of animals and horseback riding for children.

Just below the house, the historic Old Oslo neighbourhood has a mix of restaurants and cafes, the Medieval Ruin Park.

The Old Oslo neighbourhood faces the Oslo fjord, with the new Opera house, and exciting new developments such as "Barcode" and Sørenga. At Sørenga you find the new Seawater Beach: http://www.visitoslo.com/en/product/?TLp=1113304.
