Notre maison

Our home is a comfortable 3 double bedroom, 2 bathroom home, with gorgeous harbour views. It was build in the 60's but extensively renovated 9 years ago. We share our home with a great big tabby cat (Drixy) who is very well behaved and who can be looked after by our son or our parents while we are away. Our three children have all grown and live away from home. Our eldest son, his partner and three children live a 5 minute drive away, and our home is geared up to have the children stay over on a regular basis. A cot, highchair, pushchair etc are all available. I love a clean and orderly home and that is what you will find when you come. I also like a relaxed home and you will find no precious belongings to worry about should children be travelling with you. Our house is up a short steep drive with stairs up to the living area. The living area opens straight out onto the back garden. There is a further pathway up to yet another extensive garden and orchard area with spectacular view over the coastline and to Mount Maunganui.

We are Cliff and Elly in our mid to late 50's and getting to that stage of life when we start thinking of slowing down and spending a bit more time travelling. Cliff is a self employed Chartered Accountant and Elly works part time in ladies fashion. We are very actively involved with our Grandkids and enjoy spending time with them. We sometimes like to take them away with us on our holidays. We are very clean and tidy people and would take good care of any house we were exchanging with. This will be our first house exchange, although Cliff's parents have done many exchanges through this site. Elly has accompanied them on a previous exchange to the Gold Coast. Cliff enjoys his tennis and fishing and has his own boat.

Cherrywood is one of Tauranga's most popular areas to live. The Cherrywood shopping centre is just 2 minutes walk from our home. It has grocery store, banks, post office, giftshop (the best in town), womens fashion, bakery, video store, florist among others. The bus stops outside the shopping centre. A further 5 minute walk from the shops brings you to the harbours edge and some great walkway/cycle tracks. New Zealand's beach resort of Mount Maunganui is just a 10 minute drive away. The walking track around the Mount is New Zealand's most walked walkway and not to be missed. The beautiful white sand beaches of Mount Maunganui stretch on and on. The area abounds with many fabulous restaurants and cafes and a number of fabulous shopping centres. The boiling mud and geysers of Rotorua are just under an hour away taking the scenic route. Hamilton and the Waikato are just over an hour away, and beautiful lake Taupo is just a two hour drive. An hour and a half on from Taupo brings you to Mount Ruapehu and Whakapapa ski fields.
