Notre maison

Grassmere is the name of our property. The homestead is set amidst a large mature gardenscape of lawn, established trees and perennial borders; privately situated within 25hectres of pastureland. Yet Grassmere is only 5min from the large township of Richmond and 20min from Nelson City CBD.
The home has spacious, well appointed rooms that are sun-filled and outlook onto the garden and pastureland. Fully equipped house amenities allow for comfortable living,encompassing a relaxed atmosphere. Alfresco dining in the "summer room" set within the garden,is enjoyed all year round ! And to retreat to the gardens "summer house" proves to be a much enjoyed space of tranquillity.
We are able to offer non-simultaneous exchange to our home.

Pat and I are "actively" retired! We actually often say we have not been more busy in our life since grasping these "freedom years" with both hands! I previously worked as a Registered Nurse and Pat worked as a self employed builder/farmer. We have two adult sons. Our passion is all things gardening, golf, biking and without doubt swimming at "our" Rabbit island from Spring to Autumn. We even have the occasional dip on a warm winters day !
The Taste Nelson Cycle Trail is a mere skip from our front door. We can provide full details on bike hire. Arguably we are on the prettiest stretch of the Tasman trail and bike down to the island nearly every day during the summer to swim and walk or simply to enjoy a coffee at the beach.
We love the fact that Nelson offers either the sea, the slopes, or the scenic walking tracks within a compressed wee nut shell, and reliable weather that rarely scuttles plans to enjoy the great outside !
The exchange of vehicles is not an option, however we are happy to offer our exchange partners full details for car rental companies.

Grassmere is located in Nelson. Renowned as the sunniest province in NZ!
Nelson is most certainly one of the most favoured destinations in NZ due predominantly to its divine weather, outstanding scenery, safe beaches, majestic mountains and the creative souls who live here. Rabbit Island beach is only a 10min drive to be in the water! You can cycle there on a most beautiful estuary cycle trail from our doorstep to the sea in 30-45min easy flat bike ride.
Grassmere is a mere 5min drive from the township of Richmond, 15min drive from Nelson airport and only 20min drive to Nelson CBD, which makes for a perfectly situated property that gives you a sense of privacy, space and relaxation; within easy reach to all service amenities.
The property, being so close to the renowned Rabbit Island beach, Greenacres golf course, the Taste Nelson Cycle Trail,numerous outstandingly good wineries and cafes; and within an easy drive excursion to three internationally renowned National Parks, and the glorious Golden bay beaches; makes Grassmere ideally situated for all holiday activities!
