Welcome to Nelson, New Zealand and our lovely home. We have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Both bedrooms have king-sized beds that can be split into twin beds. The master bathroom is an ensuite and has a roomy shower, sink, toilet and heated towel rail. The guest bathroom has a large bathtub, separate shower and sink. The toilet is located in a separate room and has a small sink.
The open plan family room, dining room and gourmet kitchen are beautifully furnished. The sliding glass door in the family room opens onto a large terrace with outdoor dining and BBQ. There is also a sauna and an outdoor spa off of the terrace. The living room is separated from the open plan area by sliding glass doors. The view from the living room is of the Tasman Sea and the Mountains in the background. the living room has a ranch slider that opens on to the terrace.
The house was recently built and has good insulation, a heat pump and a fire place. We have never turned on the air conditioner as we get lovely sea breezes in the summer. The gourmet kitchen is a cooks dream.
We have a large collection of artworks that we hoe you will enjoy.
We are expat Americans and have lived in New Zealand since 2003. We purpose built a 5 star luxury B and B and operated until a couple of months ago. We are hoping to enjoy retirement and plan to do a lot of travel and house exchanges. Joe is a retired dentist and Kay owned and operated a cooking school when living in Southern California.
We are in Stoke, which is about halfway between downtown Nelson and Richmond.
the neighbourhood is relatively new with most houses 5 to 6 years old. Our home is 6 to 8 km to Nelson CBD and is an hour from Abel Tasman Park. There are beautiful beaches nearby and the view is of the back bay and Rabbit Island.
