We live in a wooden 1904 house in a suburb close into the Centre of Nelson. Its a 15 minute walk to the centre of the city and a 10 minute drive to a lovely beach, (Tahunanui). We have five good sized bedrooms although one is used as the grand childrens playroom/sunroom, but it has a fold down divan. For heating it has two wood burners and aheat pump.
We live close to the Centre of Nelson but in a quiet urban area. Nelson is known as Sunny Nelson because in most years it has the most sun of anywhere in New Zealand. It is within 90 minutes of three National Parks; Abel Tasman, (one of NZ's "Great Walks" by the sea), Kahurangi, (mountainous) and Nelson Lakes, (lakes and mountains with many tramping tracks).
Nelson is the second best mountain biking area in New Zealand with tracks on the hills around Nelson, and further afield. There are also many other cycleways including the three day Nelson Great Taste Trail.
