Notre maison

Our house is a modern 4 bedroomed house on a private, sheltered section within short walking distance to the lake. The landscaping was done to encourage the abundance of bird life in the area.
Originally the house was a small family holiday house but was extended 3 years ago. It can now be divided into 2 separate units. The original side has a queen bedroom and one with 2 single beds and modern bathroom. It has a full kitchen, and large lounge area. Downstairs on the newer side is a large bedroom with super king bed and ensuite. There is sunny, warm rumpus area with an extra double bed. Ouside is a paved barbecue area with dining table for 8 and spa pool.
The laundry is central to both units. This makes it ideal for 2 families or friends travelling together.
Upstairs is a very tranquil, comfortable lounge which has beautiful views of the lake, and into the trees where birds can be seen feeding. The full kitchen and dining area opens onto a deck with barbecue and a 6 seater table.

Taupo, described as the Queenstown of the North is central North Island on the shores of Lake Taupo with Mt Ruapehu close by. It is the largest freshwater lake in New Zealand created by an enormous volcanic eruption. Taupo is a busy tourist town with all facilities catering for trout fishermen, mountain bikers, trampers, skiers and holiday makers visiting for it's natural beauty.

Taupo is about one hours easy drive from the famous Tongariro river for fly fishing, the world acclaimed Tongariro Crossing walk, Mt Ruapehu ski fields, the thermal region of Rotorua, and the vineyards of Hawkes Bay.It is also easy travelling to Waitomo Glow worm caves in Taranaki.

Kinloch is a charming, small village 15 minutes drive from Taupo. There are a mix of permanent and holiday homes. It is usually very quiet except on public holidays when the holiday makers come to enjoy the lake. The village has a small general store for basic groceries and a restaurant/ bar. Both provide takeaways and the store has a pizza oven operating at busy periods.
Kinloch is the home to several excellent bike and walking tracks through beautiful New Zealand bush. No spiders or snakes to worry about. Many elite sporting events including the NZ Triathalon competition occur here and it is part of the Round Taupo Cycle Race. Facilities include a Jack Nicklaus 18 hole golf course, a nine hole golf course, rock climbing and all water sports. Boats can be chartered to try and catch delicious Rainbow Trout.
This is the perfect spot to be as active or relaxed as you wish.
