“San Miguel de Allende – A very successful home exchange As part of a trip through Mexico, we have made a home exchange with Kathy and Frank which gave us the opportunity to spend 3 weeks in San Miguel de Allende. San Miguel is a really beautiful city, full of charm and very colorful. Strolling in the streets, observing the beautiful houses, patios and historical monuments, relaxing on the benches, enjoying the nice terraces with beautiful views, soaking in the Mexican atmosphere … all of that is a real treat. The house of Kathy and Frank is superb. Its design is breathtakingly original. The house is beautiful, full of light and very pleasant to live in. Various patios and terraces interlink nicely the various rooms and parts of the house. Kathy is a painter and some of her works decorate the walls, which gave us plenty of time to contemplate them, a nice experience. We met Kathy and Frank at their house before they flew to Brussels for this exchange, and spent a real nice afternoon and evening with them. We appreciated their warm and sympathetic welcome and would be happy to see them again. If you hesitate to come to Mexico due to its bad reputation on security, our own experience was that if you take reasonable elementary precautions, you will enjoy and discover a truly interesting country with a superb mix of culture and people.”
