Notre maison

Thank you for your interest in La Casa di Borgo Nuovo (The House of the New Hamlet), my Medieval townhouse in beautiful Todi in Italy. Built in the 11th century, the house offers modern amenities while resonating a classic, Italian architecture - stone walls, wood beam ceilings and terracotta floors. The house is a three-story townhouse located on a quiet, residential street within walking distance of the main piazza, local restaurants, shops and amenities. It has two double bedrooms and one bathroom and accommodates 3-4 people, however 1-2 people is more comfortable as there is only one bathroom. The upstairs lounge offers a quiet area to relax or work, while the ground floor kitchen is perfect for meals around the table, where friends can linger over slow food and wine. More information: > The house has iPod speakers to play any iPod. > There is no TV or phone. It's recommended you bring a mobile phone; Internet access can be provided and there is also an Internet café in town as well as wifi connections in the Piazza and town library. > Food markets, post office, shops, restaurants and cafés are within walking or driving distance. > Parking outside the house is free. > In the summer, there is a tennis/swim club nearby with an Olympic sized pool. > There is a private piazza located outside the house—perfect for dining al fresco in the warmer months. En savoir plus sur nous

  1. I'm Karin. I live in the CT/NY area of the US. I recently returned to live in the US after 10 years of living in London. I purchased my house in Italy 5 years ago as a holiday home/investment. I work as a designer and so have also taken pride in decorating my house to reflect its old and new Italian character. I'm single, in my early forties, no kids or pets, but I do spend a good amount of time with friends who sometimes travel with me. I love painting and cooking and so appreciate space and amenities to enjoy these things, as well as experiencing different cultures and meeting new people which encourages me to travel. I can do an even or non-simultaneous exchange. If you are interested in an exchange, please let me know!

Todi is a wonderful place all year round... there are festivals, markets, concerts, seasonal food and wine tastings, shopping and much more. Conveniently located in central Italy, a trip to Rome is one and half hours south by car and Florence, two hours north by car; both cities have abundant nightlife, restaurants, shopping and art. Todi is in close proximity to Perugia, famous for its chocolate and University; the wine country of Orvieto; Deruta, known for its Italian ceramics; and the charming hill towns of Assisi, Spoleto and Arezzo.
