Notre maison

I offer a beautiful apartment fifteen minutes from the heart of Rome. I have one bedroom, There is one living room, one study (with a sofa where 2 people can sleep), and a large kitchen where all the family can eat. It's a nice Italian apartment and very peaceful overlooking the olive trees. There is a big terrace with flowers. The apartment is on the first floor of a villa. Very typical and quiet you only hear the dogs barking!

You are 20 minutes by car from the sea side. They are many beautiful lakes around where you can swim in the summer and nearby you can eat delicious fishes of all sorts. All roads lead to Rome they say :) Rome is far from being a museum: it's a colourful and vibrant living city which is still an appealing destination for those with a phobia of history. The food, the culture, the ambience and the surrounding scenery make a great holiday even if you don't see a single ruin or statue.

At Rome's own preserved ancient town, Ostia Antica, you can lose yourself in the sprawling streets of the former port. Abandoned by the Romans, this trading centre declined and finally became buried in silt. Much of the area is now excavated, and you can explore streets where some of the ancient character lingers. Mosaics still in place, columns reaching to the sky, careful frescoes decorating walls which still stand high .. and fascinating marble-seated communal public toilets.

Rome, the Eternal City, also seems to suffer from eternal traffic congestion. But remember, there are lots of cheap and easy public transport options to help you get around the city.

Try to avoid taxis, they can be very expensive and many aren't properly licensed. If you do take a taxi, make sure it's a legal, metered one and check the fares in advance.

Avoid the adventure of driving in Rome if you have a rental car, park it somewhere secure and find other ways to get around.
