Notre maison

Why not sample true Italian lifestyle by staying in an old Borgo in the heart of Campania? Visit Pompeii, Naples, Vesuvius, Paestum or maybe Avellino the hometown of Tony Soprano!

The 100-m2 Casa del Paniere was sympathetically renovated in 2006 and is located in a quaint courtyard. Stunning views combined with original features such as vaulted ceilings and antique tile floors help Casa del Paniere retain its unique local charm.

The beautiful master bedroom has a small private balcony with fantastic views over the countryside. The small second bedroom is ideal for young or young-at-heart travellers with its bunk beds and picture window. A basic compact shower room & toilet with tiled floor - laundry facilities available nearby.

A large living area is perfect for relaxing in with a cool glass of wine listening to some music, reading or watching a dvd. The kitchen has everything needed to prepare an Italian night in, but we doubt you'll be spending much time here as the selection of excellent restaurants nearby will keep you entertained throughout your stay.

Calitri is located in the centre of Italy - halfway between the ruins of Pompeii and the Amalfi coast to the west and Magna Graecia to the east. The area around Calitri is sprinkled with castles, aristocratic palazzos and delightful locations soaked in history and tradition, ridged with hills and valleys and marked by the ancient trails along which Hannibal and his legions marched when setting off to attack ancient Rome 2,000 years ago.

An absolutely beautiful town of 6,000 inhabitants, over 2,000 years old, perched precariously on the side of a mountain overlooking the valleys below and snow-capped mountains all around. Surprisingly modern, yet steeped in tradition. Medieval historical centres and old castles are a must for the discerning visitor, who can also look to the visit for tranquility, hospitality and a high quality of life.

Calitri offers infinite activities centered around its many local traditions. Thanks to the relaxing atmosphere that Calitri has to offer, long relaxing walks can be enjoyed along the countryside and enjoy the unique and beautiful scenery. Visitors can wander round the medieval village to soak in the atmosphere and enjoy the local artisan's shops and the exceptional regional cuisine among other activities. Courses in traditional ceramics (Calitri is world-known for its artistic ceramics) needle point and arts are available. Many sports including skiing, paragliding, horse riding, mountain biking, fishing and hunting can also be practiced. For those seeking more relaxing occupations, soaking in the nearby thermal baths or embarking on exciting culinary or wine itinearies are an attractive option.
