En savoir plus sur nous

  1. My wife, Elisabeth Lenahan and I have been living in Bali for several years. Elisabeth teaches academic English and cross cultural studies to Indonesian PHD and Masters students. I am a full time novelist as well as a travel writer churning out a book a year.

Our two daughters live in England and Canada.

We travel as much as we possibly can and we are currently chipping away at Indonesia and its 17,000 island .

Sanur is situated on the 'quiet side' of the peninsula and is far from the hustle and bustle of the nightlife of Seminyak, Legian and Kuta yet they are just a 45 minute taxi ride away if you wish to venture there.

Sanur prides itself as being a 'family destination' as the sandy beaches are protected by an offshore reef so swimming here is completely safe. The beachfront stretches ten kilometers in either direction and is lined with restaurants, warungs and a few high end five star hotels. Sunrises are sublime as are the sunsets where one can sit on the sand amid the colourful fishing boats and enjoy a sundowner.

Sanur is a gateway to some of the closer islands ( lembongan, penida and Lombok) and fast boats can be taken from the northern end of the beach . ( Lembongan is a mere 30 minute boat ride away so perfect for day trips) great shopping , be it for high end clothing or souvenirs line the streets. Fine dining or 'cheap and cheerful' restaurants abound meaning that when it comes to dining out one is spoilt for choice.

sanur is just 25 minutes from the airport on the new toll road

This is a perfect 'jumping off point' for day trips up the coast or to the interior of the island including Ubud, and a mere 2.5 hour drive to the Bali's northern beaches.

Local culture abounds and on any given day huge and colourful processions will pass right by the villa's front door.
