Notre maison

We offer a comfortable and spacious 3 bedroom family home with fence all around in the beautiful ocean village Grundarfjörður in West-Iceland. We have lived here since the house was built in 1984.

The biggest bedroom includes a closet and a double bed that can be adjusted for your back and your legs. The second bedroom also has a closet and a sofa that can be changed into a bed for two. The last but not least bedroom is the room we spend most of our time playing and writing music but we have have two mattresses that could well be put into the music room.

Our living room includes a antique sofa set with an antique sofa table. And the TV area has a comfortable sofa that can well be used for sleeping(very comfortable)

We have a fully equipped kitchen and that's the place we spend most of our time together, playing cards, games and simply just chatting away.

Our house has a terrace with table and chairs if you want to sunbathe in the summer and we have a barbeque with gas tanks on the terrace as well.

In the TV area we have a 42 inch flat screen and DVD player with many DVD movies.

In the music room, are three guitars and one keyboard, for those who like playing or writing music. A baby cot can also be provided if needed.

We have a beautiful back garden with a swing and a sandbox. In the garden are trees and plants which we planted when we first moved in back in '84. The garden is also perfect if you want to play tennis or soccer with the little ones. On a beautiful summer day it's also lovely just to enjoy the summer air, the view of the mountains in the south and the ocean in the north.

We love our home and it's a perfect place for a family that wants to enjoy life in our beautiful town.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. I am Johanna (age 60) and I live here with my husband Gunnar(63). My husband and I own the local bookstore here in the town.
At this point I will be travelling with my 21 year old daughter, Dæja who works at the nursery home and her 24 year old fiancee Óli, my son in-law. And their one year old son, my grandson, Heiðar will be travelling with us. Óli works as a tourguide on the local whale watching boat and is attending a Shakespeare workshop in London from 22 July to 16 august 2013. So we're only looking for someone from London who can exchange with us for the 4 weeks previously mentioned. If you want exchange for only one, two or three weeks, we're open open for that as well.

This is our first time exchanging and we find this very exciting. We have a well behaved cat named Alexander which could be situated in another house while you stay here but if you want to you can have him with you. Like most cats he is very independent and only needs a bowl of food and water and he spends most of his time outside.

We are responsible, family oriented and we hope to find good people who will treat our house with respect as we will treat theirs.
