Notre maison

The flat is quite a typical: every room is different. The living room is open on a very quiet terrace. The two rooms offer a nice view on the Castle, as the small office does. There's a jaccuzzi in the bathroom (not that bad !). And the small kitchen has everything usefull (we looove cooking). As we travelled a lot, there's a multicultural spirit in there. Masks and pictures on walls, mostly. The place is not hudge, but it's quite charming :-) Most of all, there's a terrace, and on there, when your feet will burn after hours walking in Paris: a nice hamac. During summer, it's very nice to have breakfast and "aperotime" on the terrace. There's also a piano. //

  1. We are a family of 3,5 : Gef 34, Mathilde 32, Garance 2,5 years old and ?? (birth planned on june 10). As the new-someone-of-our-family is planned to born in june, we plan to go somewhere not that far in Europe during August (or last july), not to hot, and with a nice garden (the dreaaam) and babies stuff. Let's talk about us : We travelled around the world 17 monthes in 2004, and we are very found of mountain, nature, cities, arts, culture (we enjoy very much theatre, museums, cinema, books, comics...), and travel, of course. Mathilde (from Lyon) is working for editorial websites (writing, camera stuff...), Gef (from Lille) is project manager. We've several activities: I'm acting in a theatre group, gef is a sculptor, and we are in an AMAP (the french name for CSA: Community Supported Agriculture - we'll let you take the vegetables and meet the group if you want !!). And Garance is drawing a lot, and singing even more :-) Before living here, we were living in Paris and we felt in love with this lovely place: Vincennes. We truely hope you'll enjoy Vincennes and Paris as much as we do !

Localisation

Quartier

Very close to Paris (5 minutes by bike you can also try the "VELIB" the almost free cities bikes / also 5 minutes by subway), our place is right in front of "Le chateau de Vincennes" which is, with the Louvres, one of the most important castle of France's history. It's a XII century construction, and was completed by several parts in differents centuries. Vincennes has a village atmosphere, it's very welcoming. There's many "marchés" and many shops. Also there's a beautiful wood, perfect for biking, (the joggers' paradise) a lake very nice for picnic, and most of all, the "parc floral", where you can enjoy jazz concerts on week end in summer, or appreciate flowers all the year. Just down our place (from the door to the sub, less than 1 minute !), there's the subway, line 1, which is crossing Paris from East to west. For example, on this line: Bastille=10minutes, Louvres=15min, ChampsElysees + Arc de triomphe=20min... You can also use RER if you like to go to Marne la vallee for example it's direct.
