Notre maison

Very peaceful environment, lovely views all year round from verandah overlooking the fenland, nature well preserved round about; our house is spacious and comfortable, it is also full of artifacts, objects brought back from our trips and stays overseas. Although we live in the country we are not cut off from "civilization "! We have the best of both worlds, we think!

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. Keith and I are now retired (keith, Scot) was an insurance broker, I (annick, French) was an English teacher; We have spent most of the last 20 years overseas (Morocco, Madagascar and Reunion island in the Indian Ocean). We have travelled a lot and still love travelling; last winter we did a house exchange with a couple who lives in Melbourne and then did a housesit in Wellington (NZ); we like to visit warm countries when it is winter here as we still miss the warm climate of the countries we lived in for nearly 20 years! We like meeting new people and discovering new places and cultures.

We are ideally situated as a touring base and our area has a lot to offer: we are close to the Atlantic coast, within easy reach of the beaches in summer but there also many medium size towns worth visiting: Cognac and Bordeaux are reasonably close; La Rochelle can be reached in an hour by road; all the local towns have authentic street markets; the arrea is also known for its beautiful 12th century churches. The two islands of Oleron and Ré are also very popular.
