Notre maison

Our home is a lovely restored villa on a hill above a typical Provençal village. There are four bedrooms (two with double beds, one with a single, and one with bunk beds), two and a half baths, and a large and luminous eat-in kitchen with 13 foot ceilings and seating for up to 8. The 400 sq. ft. living room features centuries old exposed beams, and has a second sitting area with 16 foot ceilings and skylights, which can also serve as a dining room with seating for up to 14 people. Above the living room is a cozy loft where evidence of the modern world (TV, stereo, computer) is hidden away. Furnishings are a mixture of traditional Provençal and early twentieth century "antiques".

An easy ten minute walk from the town center, the house is located in a quiet neighborhood on just under an acre of land, with old trees and dry stone walls. There is a very pleasant covered stone terrace with another large table for outdoor dining, and an above ground swimming pool for cooling off in the hot summer sun.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We are a forty-something Franco-American couple with three children aged 12 to 16. Being originally from California, my son and I also know and love Hawaii. This year, we would like the whole family to see why I never stop talking about it!

We would love to trade our clean and comfortable family home in a beautiful corner of the world for your tropical paradise for a few weeks this summer.

We're also interested in spending some time in the Las Vegas area.

Saint-Zacharie is a pleasant little town, a bit off the beaten path, but well located for exploring both the better known coastal areas, and the less visited but fascinating back country of "le Haut Var". Local attractions range from hiking in "la Sainte Baume", to golf at nearby Nans les Pins. Within half an hour are the big port city of Marseille, the smaller but elegant Aix-en-Provence, and Cassis, one of the prettiest towns on the French Mediterranean. Attractions within two hours are too numerous to mention, but include the Roman ruins at Arles and Nimes to the west, Avignon, seat of the French popes to the north, and Nice, Monaco, and the Italian border to the east. And thanks to the TGV, Paris is only an easy three hour train ride away.

Best of all though, is the laid back, festive atmosphere that comes with the heat of summer. If you've already been to Mediterranean Europe, you know what I mean. If not, you're in for a pleasant surprise.
