Notre maison

Le Fer à Cheval (the horseshoe) is a beautifully renovated ancient stone house in the Provencal wine-making village of Sablet.
Tucked away in the tranquil centre of the village, the house has one double bedroom, one double or twin bedroom and plenty of room to relax, with a large, well equipped kitchen and spacious dining room. Its pretty, south facing terrace looks out over the church gardens.
Le Fer à Cheval is only available in the winter months, but at other times of year we can sometimes offer our own house, La Ruine, which is just round the corner! La Ruine also has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and has a lovely garden planted with pine trees, herbs and lavender.

We also have a house in a lovely neighbourhood in central London which is sometimes available as well. Please contact us for more information if you're interested!

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We are a non-smoking couple in our fifties who split our time between Provence and London.
Pascal is a composer/musician, Pippa is a translator and chef.
We love both our homes and count our blessings every day that we are able to enjoy two totally different lifestyles! We are always very happy to give our insider tips of the best places to go and the most interesting things to do in either place. We have already done several very successful exchanges.
We have a friendly cat, Fausto, who is sometimes in residence - depending on the time of year.
We are very responsible and will look after your home as if it were our own!

At the moment we would be interested in an exchange in
    - Berlin / Prague / Warsaw / Krakow for April - May 2020

We are always interested in ski destinations in the winter.

The village of Sablet is situated in the heart of the Côtes-du-Rhône wine region.
All the bustle of the shops and amenities of the village are within a few paces from the house:
bakers, butcher, mini-market, grocer, wine boutique, newsagent, chemist, stationer, florist, hairdressers as well as a post office and a bank with cashpoint.
An excellent fresh fish stall and a fresh goats cheese maker visit the village on Thursday mornings.
There are three restaurants and a café/bar in the village, and many more excellent places to eat in the surrounding area as well amazing wines to taste, direct from the many small family-run wineries.
The nearby town of Vaison-la-Romaine is full of historical interest, antique shops, nice cafés and hosts a lovely provençal market every week.
Sablet is within easy reach of the historic cities of Avignon (30 minutes), Aix-en-Provence (1 hour), Marseille (1 hour), Orange (15 minutes) Carpentras (20 minutes) and Nîmes (an hour), as well as the beaches of the Camargue (1 hour), and the lavender fields of Sault (40 minutes). It's the perfect location for exploring Provence!
