Notre maison

We have a three year old house in south west France. The climate here is only bettered by that of the Cote d/Azur. There are three double bedrooms, one with ensuite facilities and a walk in wardrobe. Bedroom two has a walk in wardrobe and bedroom three is a twin bedded room. These two rooms share a large bathroom. Bedrooms one and two have King Size beds, and French windows onto the decking facing South, and the twin bedded room overlooks the garden at the back of the house. Lovely views abound, and the large windows make the house light and airy, heavenly in the summer, and warm and cosy in the winter with its super-efficient oil fired heating. Everywhere is newly decorated, with turkish rugs on the wooden floors, and terra cotta tiling in the entrance/kitchen area. The 8x4 metre pool has an alarm system, and is heated to a continuous 26 degrees. The large fishpond is stocked with carp and goldfish. There are garden games available, and a tennis table. The vegetable garden is stocked in the summer, and the trees offer apples, pears and peaches at the appropriate times. International airports are located at Paris, Bordeaux, Poitiers, and Limoges, and there is a hourly direct TGV connection to Paris from Poitiers or Angouleme, both less than an hour from the house, so travelling is pretty easy.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. Peter and I are an early retired couple, who have lived in France for eleven years now. We ran art galleries and did picture framing in England, and imported furnitures and artefacts from India, Africa and the Far East - you can tell that from our decor!! We have two super-friendly felines, who come as part of the package.

We are in a small and tranquil hamlet; English people live close by, but the other houses are french owned. There are beautiful walks all around and the pool and outside eating area ensure a wonderful holiday close to home. However, the village of Lizant is a walk away, and offers a bar/restaurant, a fish and chip shop (English owned), and antique shop, bakers and post office. Within the village is a trout farm where one can fish for trout and then have them cooked and served in their informal little restaurant, or eat the menu of the day for ridiculously little! The market towns of Ruffec and Civray are each six kilometres away so there is a wealth of shopping and dining possibilities. Angouleme, Poitiers, and La Rochelle at the coast are all easily accessible, and not to be missed during your stay, and Bordeaux is at a distance of 60 kilometres, with all its wine chateaux.
