Notre maison

It is a typical XVIIth century Norman house with three floors, with wooden beams on walls and ceilings. It is located in a very peaceful and charming neighbourhood, five-ten minutes on foot away from the town centre. The living-room (on the ground floor) is cosy, warm and inviting and it has an adjoining kitchen. Our bedroom is on the first floor (with the computer zone), there are 2 child's rooms on the second floor and a third child's room on the third floor with a view to the cathedral. Outside, we have a nice common yard with flowers and plants where we have a barbecue. We also like to read there or just have a drink. There is also a very nice city park down the road with many children's games (swings, toboggans...).

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We're forty-three and thirty-seven years old. We're both teachers and we have three boys aged sixteen, eight and 5 months. We love spending time with them. We also love to invite friends or going out with them. We love cinema, reading, art, history, dancing (Severine practises contemporary dancing),eating out. At home, we also have a digital piano, a guitar and a djembe. We practise sport (football, swimming and jogging). There's a pool 5 min. away from our home on foot and and I like to go jogging along the docks or in the park. There's also a stadium where everybody can go and practise football, basketball, jogging, skating ... And of course we love travelling (Morocco, India, Madagascar, Italy, England, Spain...) We love to visit our region: the historic places, the seaside, the castles...and we love to go to Paris. Last summer, we did a our first home swap with a Spanish couple: Javier and Carmen and since then, have done 5 exchanges.

Our neighbourhood looks like a village: it is old, charming and peaceful, with its boulangerie (croissants and delicious baguettes !) just round the corner, and the people are very nice. There are very few cars passing by. There is no traffic. We get on very well with our neighbours. At the weekends, we like to go to the market, and everyday there is a market in Rouen. You walk through the park and arrive in the city centre with its pedestrian areas. Rouen is ideally located: the centre of Rouen is beautiful, with its cathedral (free show every night in summer inspired by Claude Monet), its half-timbered houses, its varied architecture (medieval, Renaissance, XIXth century...), its monuments, museums, its restaurants and bars with "terraces", its music festival in July). Rouen is 50 minutes-1h30 away by car from the beaches, the Giverny Garden (Claude Monet), the Chateau de Versailles, the cliffs in Etretat, the beaches, Honfleur, Deauville, Cabourg, famous castles and abbeys... It is 2 hours away from the Mont Saint Michel It is between an hour and ten minutes and an hour and a half away from Paris by train. And we're close to the station. Rouen is ideally located to visit Normandy, a beautiful region (countryside, typical food and restaurants, castles, seaside, villages)
