Notre maison

Our house is big (3 stories) and comfortable, with an independant outbuilding which houses 2 to 4 and en suite bathroom. Some people like that former Bergerie (sheepfold) more than the house! There is a large 1 hectare garden with hundreds of species of plants and visiting butterflies, birds and magnificent skies. Oh, and Olive trees , many kinds of fruit trees, large vegetable garden. Our dog is extremely sweet and friendly (female German shepherd, 5 yrs old), and the two cats are also very nice - one shy, one not so shy. The pool and jacuzzi are heated so you can swim at any time.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We are non-smoking biologists/ecologists/naturalists with two teenagers. After 20 years of restoration, rehabilitation and maniacal gardening, our house is now ready for stay-in visitors! We love travelling and interested in many regions, Brazil, Europe and elsewhere. Open to proposals, but not terribly flexible for dates.

There are no near neighbours but there is a charming village 600 meters away, shops 5 km away in the both of the neighboring villages, including a Bio (organic) food shop in Aniane. A reasonable supermarket is 10 km away, and Montpellier with all of its charms is 30 km away. The land is surrounded by mediterranean woodland, olive groves and lots of beauty and silence. There are many interesting places to visit near by, such as Saint Guilhem-Le-Désert (a medieval village classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site), St Jean de Fos (medieval village with strong guild of potters and unbroekn tradition since 17th century). Also, 30 km of canyons and gorges in the Herault River and so much more... There are a great number of excellent wineries in the area open to visitors, as well as museums, riding stables, parks, etc. Great restaurants too, and pretty nice people from a wide range of backgrounds. English not widely spoken, but you can get along without French. Much less humanized, and far fewer tourists than Provence, though Montpellier has great summer festivals that draw many people there.
