Notre maison

This classic, third floor Hausmannian apartment is filled with antique furniture and books, has high stucco ceilings, open fireplaces, gilded mirrors, original wooden flooring etc. It is ranged over the entire third floor. Has an elevator. There are two bedrooms - one small double with en suite, the other very large with main bathroom attached via corridor. A large, book-lined dining room with table for ten is connected by two double doors to a large living room with two sofas, working fireplace, stereo, TV, DVD, video, and small balconies. This apartment offers a unique taste of an authentic Paris in the heart of the city with both the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomph visible from the front windows. This is a lived in apartment, so the decor has a gentle'patina' - please don't expect Marriott Hotel perfection - that said it is very elegant and if you are looking for a grand Parisian experience, you won't do better.

Localisation

Quartier

Avenue Marceau is the next avenue clockwise round from the Champs Elysees, it lies on the border of the 8th and 16 arrondissments. It leads down to the Seine where every Weds and Sat there is a glorious market on ave Pres Wilson. The Champs Elysees lies one minute away; the Louvre and dozens more museums are within walking distance. The nearest Metro is George V, one minute away; the bus to the Left Bank stops outside our door and goes directly to St Germain etc. There is a great bakers across the street, and a supermarket and, more importantly, chocolatier lie three minutes' walk away. The Gard du Nord, which has a direct train link to London, is 30 minutes by metro.
Ave Marceau forms one side of the so-called 'golden triangle' featuring all the world's most famous fashion houses. The Champs Elysees has 10 cinemas, all showing English language films plus several night clubs and tourist restaurants that are, frankly, best avoided (we can give you better tips if required)! Please do be aware that Ave Marceau is faily busy with traffic and though we are on the third floor, we have no double glazing and so there is some traffic noise in the master bedroom - the en suite bedroom is silent however. Our elderly upstairs neighbour likes to play Bach on the piano in the afternoons but you can only hear it if you listen hard and he is very good!
