En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We are a married couple (a nurse at a day care center, and a retired civil servant), and have three daughters and one grandson. We have spent thirty years of our life out of France. We like art galleries and museums, and we enjoy strolling up and down the streets. Please notice that we also have two cats (aged 7 and 6 years) and that we wish to find a party prepared to take care of them during the exchange. Of course, we are ready to accept a home with pets. Our dates are based on a company holiday schedule for 2009.

The apartment rests in the popular (and rather inexpensive) 19th Arrondissement (district) of Paris, conveniently located at just 50 metres off the 'Crimée' station of Métro line #7, which puts you (underground) at only 15 minutes from the Garnier Opera house and at 20 minutes from the Louvre Museum or the Centre Pompidou/Beaubourg Gallery of Contemporary Arts. When you stay within the neighbourhood, you may enjoy a walk to the Art Center 104 or to the MK2 Movie Theater complex or to the Parc de La Villette (including both Cité des Sciences and Cité de la Musique) or else to jog uphill to the Parc des Buttes Chaumont or along the Canal de l'Ourcq flowing from the outskirts of Paris down to La Bastille and the Seine river. Twice a week, you can also go errands to the nearby open air market at the corner of Place Joinville and Canal de l'Ourcq, and watch pétanque players while sipping a coffee in one of the cafés sitting on the banks of the canal. Living in that part of Paris is unconventional for a tourist and allows for a distinct vision of the city.
