Notre maison

We live in a family apartment, on the fifth floor (with elevator) of a typical Parisian 1900’s building. We occupy the entire floor. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 with large beds (one with king size bed), the 3rd one is equipped for kids (two beds and a mezzanine). Ancient wooden floor and chimney. Two bathrooms, one with a tub, the other in the master bedroom with a shower. There’s an office giving on the little terrace. The kitchen is fully equipped. There’s a small dressing room. We enjoy fires in winter in the chimney in the living room, and breakfast in summer surrounded by our roses and numerous plants and flowers (automatic watering). One side of the apartment gives on the avenue with an open view (and a little balcony), the big balcony side gives on large courtyards with artist’s workshops (one used to be Mondrian’s).
With our Parisian apartment comes a car if needed. Our best friends live near by and can help. Our cleaning lady/nanny can be hired.

You can also settle in our secondary house situated 5 minutes from Biarritz in the Basque Country (France) in a small village called Bassussarry. This secondary house has 3 bedrooms, a living room with chimney, a fully equipped kitchen, one bathroom, a big 3000 m2 garden (more like a wild field actually, with woods and wild grass and appletrees, plum trees and apricot trees), 2 big terraces, and a car. The beach is a 5 minutes by car, or a good 20 minutes by bicycle (hills!) The TGV train takes you from Paris to Biarritz in 5 hours, or one hour by plane, or 7 hours by car.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We are a married couple in our early fourties, an scientist researcher in astrophysics, and a writer. We are going for a semester of research in Los Angeles. Our 3 kids are 3, 7 and 10. They love travelling with us and we would like them to learn some English in an LA school with local kids. We love books, surfing and life by the sea.

The area where we live (Porte d’Orléans-Alésia) is both a familial and a very busy area. It's a public transport major hub: tramway station, RER station, metro station and a dozen bus lines that go anywhere in town or suburbs. There are schools, shops, restaurants, and a lot of public parks (Montsouris, and Cité Universitaire).
