Notre maison

Our apartment is large, comfortable, charming and quiet, with a nice wooden floor, in a building of the 19th century,in the neighbourhood "Outre-Seille". The ceilings are 3,40 meters high. The living room is also a dining room, and we have a large kitchen, 3 rooms with double beds, 1 bathroom, and all the confort equipment. The walls are covered with paintings made by friends and with my collection of posters, and we have books, and a collection of CD's and Vinyls to listen to. We appreciate to live in the center of Metz, so we can walk or ride by bicycle to the cinema or the restaurants, the bars or the concert. We have a parking for your car. We have a cat to feed.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We are Nicolas and Hélène,50 years old, and we have three children (16, 20, 23 years old). I am a physician (rheumatologist) and Hélène is a graphic designer and drawing teacher, and we enjoy travelling. We think that a home exchange sounds a great way to see another country as a resident, and not as a "tourist". We are interested to discover any country but especially in Europe, reachable by car from home. I would like to know eastern europe, and I love Italy too, Spain, Iceland... I speak Italian, english and french.

The apartment is located in the historical center of Metz, in the neighborhood "Outre-Seille" near "la porte des Allemands" and the St-Maximin church with the beautiful stained-glass windows made by Jean Cocteau, near the old "Place St-Louis" and at 10mn walkinf from Pompidou Center and the train station. We are also near the shopping area, at 500 meters from the Cathedral and the river Moselle and the Galeries Lafayette. There are many restaurants in the district. Metz is a nice little city, with a beautiful Cathedral, an old town, the new POMPIDOU CENTER with modern and contemporary art exhibitions (www.centrepompidou-metz.fr), the concert hall "Arsenal" (classical music, jazz, dance), and "Les Trinitaires" for concerts (jazz, rock,...), and some Cafés with jazz and rock events (La scène https://www.facebook.com/la.scene.10?fref=ts). If you have a car, you can visit during the day the city of LUXEMBOURG (1 hour from here), SARREBRUCK (1 hour from here) and its nice museums, the odl city of TRIER (Germany), and especially the very nice city of NANCY (at 45 mn from here) with it's Stanislas Square, museum of modern art and the old town with many restaurants and bars. STRASBOURG is a little further, at 1 hour an 15 mn in car, and you can spend a week-end visiting "la route des vins" to taste the local wines from Alsace between Metz and Strasbourg. PARIS is at 1 hour and a half by TGV train, and EURODISNEY at 1hour and 15mn from Lorraine-TGV Station. You can admire the beautiful frescoes of Sillegny's church at 10 mn by car from our home.
