Notre maison

My apartment is located on the first floor in a small (eight flats) 1930's building typical of Lyon architecture. Although the flat is small (approximately 50 square meters/525 square feet), it is very agreeable with a large open living space, and plenty natural light with windows oriented East/West and high ceilings.
The kitchen is rather well equipped as I like to cook.
The bedroom can accommodate two persons, and the sofa bed in the living room could eventually sleep two extra persons.
There is a washing machine, a stereo system, a bike, a computer with high speed and unlimited internet access. Plus books both in French and English, and plenty travel guides on Lyon and Rhone-Alpes.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. My name is Catherine (45 years old), I work in accounting. I moved to Lyon in 2003, before that I lived for seven years in Canada.
I like English fiction, old buildings, hiking, gastronomy, and of course visiting new places.

I will be travelling with my sister (listing 46392), and as her flat is also available for exchange, a double exchange with Montpellier (2 hours by TGV) can be arranged easily.

It is a ten minutes walk to "les Gratte-Ciel" the center of Villeurbanne (classified by Unesco) where you will find the TNP (a renowned theater), shops and cafés.
The nearest bus stop (on line C3 - which is the line with the most frequent buses) is less than ten minutes away and give you easy access to most of the attractions, as well as the Rail station (20 minutes away approximately). There is also a metro station ten minutes away.

Lyon is the self proclaimed capital of Gastronomy, and not without reason. You will find (good) restaurants all over the place from cheap typical ones like "bouchons" to the Michelins 5 stars.
Lyon also have an outstanding architectural heritage, at the confluence of the Rhône and Saône rivers: Fourvière, with its basilica and Gallo-Roman ruins, the Renaissance district, included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
It is also well located to visit the rest of France. By TGV it takes 2 hours to go to Paris or South of France (Montpellier or Marseille), it is also near Grenoble and Annecy There are also a lot of nice smaller cities (Vienne, Roman, Valence) easily reached by train for one day's excursions.
