Notre maison

Our villa is a large stone property in the South of France, 1 hour from Nice International airport (New York Direct). Surrounded by vineyards, our villa is close to many old hill top villages with great restaurants, and the coastal resorts which are all easily reached. St Raphael and St Tropez are only 40 minutes away. Monte Carlo is 1.30hr and the Italian Riviera is less than 2 hours.

The villa has 2 reception rooms, a balcony + reading room, two terraces, an inside and outside kitchen, inside and outside dining areas. There are 4 bedrooms, 2 regular double rooms with 'ensuite' bathrooms. A family bedroom with two double beds and an 'ensuite' bathroom, and a single bedroom (can be used for two children). BBQ, table tennis,
6' Red cedar hot tub, swimming pool (Roman steps) 4 meters by 10 meters.

The villa has full satellite TV (sky), French TV and many books. The kitchen is fully equipped.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. Jeff and Sheila are in their 50's and live in the villa with their son Eric who is 14 yrs old. Jeff works as a business consultant in the UK every other week. Sheila's family are Irish and Jeff's are Welsh.

This is our first year on the house swap site. We enjoy travelling and are always keen to explore new places (love the USA). We are keen skiers so we are always interested in a swap that allows us to use a ski facility but obviously we like summer vacations. Most people would prefer Provence in the summer and that is fine providing we arrange an exchange in early summer (June) or late Summer (September).

Provence has many attractions, from beaches and wild coastal scenery, to inland lakes and the famous Gorge de Verdon. Close to the villa are many restaurants, ranging from top quality A la carte to local French cuisine at normal prices.

From the villa you can jump a small stone wall and be directly in the vineyards. There are many country trails from the villa through different vineyards and woodlands, ideal for walking or bikes. Most vineyards have wine caves to encourage you to taste and buy the local produce. In the village, there are many cafe's and restaurants. Locally you can use a tennis club and there is a river for boating, there are a few horse riding schools, and there are 9 golf courses in the region, the nearest is about 20 minutes away. The Gorge de Verdon has white water activities and near the coast there is Go Kart racing and fun fairs etc.

Besides beaches and beautiful inland areas (The Gorge de Verdon, Lake St Croix, and the Porquerolles Islands are all famous) there are cultural places of interest. Aix en Provence is about 1 hr away with great shopping. It is known as the Paris of the south. Marseille is only 1hr 20 mins away with a great port and bustling city. Arles (famous for the painter Van Gogh and serious Roman remains including an arena)is 2 hrs away. Cannes is about 45 minutes - again with a great port.
