Notre maison

The house is an early 19th century farmstead. Detatched in 4 1/2 acres of gardens and meadow, it is built in typical Quercy style from limestone. It has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms (2 en-suite), a large salle de sejour & a sitting room. Outside, there is shady pergola, walled herb-garden, a potager and lawns. There are amazing views to the North over the limestone plateau, and over wooded valleys to the South, East and West. It is beautifully peaceful.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. My husband is a consulting Doctor of Engineering (commuting between here and the City of London) and I am a medical herbalist (a member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists).
Our silver wedding aniversary will be in 2007 so we want to visit Italy (where we had our honeymoon). This time, 'though it will be less romantic, because our 9 year old daughter will be coming with us.
Our most extreme sport used to be riding, but we have not ridden for a while. Mostly we walk in the beautiful nearby countryside as often as we can.
We have no pets and don't smoke so, unfortunately, we can't accept smokers, or pets.
We would like to offer a car exchange (mine is a Renault Espace).

Quartier

The Lot is 1000's of acres of ancient oak woodland on three enormous limestone plateaux, or "causses". These are full of a breathtaking range of plants, especially orchids, and teeming with wildlife, such as the "Sanglier", (Wild Boar). There are footpaths everywhere. We are 20 minutes from the second and third most famous sites outside of Paris: Rocamadour and the Gouffre of Padirac.
Rocamadour is a medieval, cliff-hanging village containing chapels of relics that are still today visited by pilgrims. It is a way-stop on the great Santiago de Compostella pilgrimage route (20 minutes South West by car).
The Gouffre de Padirac is an astounding series of caves containing the great lake which you can explore by boat.
