Notre maison

Our cottage has been modernised and refurbished and while we have tried to retain the French "cottage" feel, its rustic appeal does not come from old-fashioned electricity and plumbing, which are right up-to-date, but from exposed beams and stonework. We have installed a modern wood-burning stove which warms the whole cottage if required in spring and autumn. The lounge area, with sofa and chairs, leads to the well-planned kitchen area with built-in work surfaces and cupboards under and over. The dining area is conveniently situated alongside the kitchen peninsular. One step up from here is a small hall, giving access to a double bedroom, the bathroom and separate WC. Upstairs is a large twin bedroom.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We, Jenny and Bruce, are a retired English couple who move to France 16 years ago to live "the good life". We grow most of our own food and love living in this quiet part of France. Because our summers are busy, we love to get away in the winter and spend a few weeks on the ski slopes. Our ideal location for an exchange would be in the Vail/Beaver Creek area, but the best time to visit us is in the Spring or Summer. We rent the cottage out during the summer months so would like as much notice as possible to ensure the dates you want are available.

Set in a small hamlet about 30 miles from Limoges, the cottage has lovely views over rolling countryside of pasture and woodland. The Dronne river rises a few kilometres away and flows through the valley behind the cottage.

The Limousin region is one of the least densely populated of mainland France, with agriculture and forestry the main occupations. Driving around the quiet country lanes past scattered farms and hamlets, you will probably meet more tractors than cars, and more wildlife than traffic. This is an ideal location for hiking and biking, and a great base for visiting some of the tourist attractions of the Dordogne.
