In this apartment in the heart of town, you will be close to all shops, the cinema, the theatres, the fishing harbours and marinas including the famous “quai des milliardaires”, the ramparts, the Picasso and Peynet museums and the very charming pedestrian streets of the old Antibes. The old town is at your disposal with its picturesque narrow streets by the ramparts and the charming area of Le Safranier. The Provencal market of the old Antibes is one of the most typical of the region and there you will find fresh products from the local producers every morning: fruits, vegetables, cheese, fish, local products, socca, honey, olives and tapenade. There are many restaurants for all tastes and all budgets with lovely pleasant terraces to take a break or relax, enjoy the local dishes and have an aperitif. You will be within a few minutes from the many beaches of Antibes. The charming beach of La Gavette is a few 500m away from the apartment and Antibes also has several private beaches with casual restaurants and comfortable beach sunloungers. I also recommend you the Royal Beach at the Jardins du Ponteil only 500 m away from the apartment. You will also have the opportunity to explore the huge sandy beaches of Juan-les-Pins and Cannes or the pebble beaches with crystal-clear water of Fort Carré in Nice. You will also be very close to Monaco and Italy and you can visit the coastline and the hinterlands to discover all the exceptional touristic sites: Cap d’Antibes, Lérins Islands, Théoule-sur-Mer and the Esterel until Saint-Tropez. Closer, the old village of Biot and its internationally renowned “Verrerie” (glass factory), Valbonne with its old town and its Place des Arcades, the old Cagnes, Mougins and the galleries of contemporary artists, Saint-Paul-de-Vence and the Maeght Foundation, etc. You are close to several sport activities: boat rental in Antibes, tennis, Olympic-sized pool, sailing club and port. There is Marineland and its internationally renowned attractions, the departmental parks of Vaugrenier and La Valmasque. The Golf de Biot is 10 minutes away and Cap d’Antibes is also to discover by car or on foot via the Chemin des Contrebandiers or also by boat. For climbing lovers, Baou de Saint-Jeannet is a must-see in the region. Nice is 30 minutes away by car or by train with the Promenade des Anglais, the Jazz Festival, its carnival, its museums, its squares, its old town and the flower market of Cours Saleya that are a foretaste of Italy but also the Negresco Hotel, the Russian Church, the Belle Epoque buildings and its “fin de siècle” atmosphere. You will find a Casino, many restaurants and typical cafés to enjoy the best Provencal cuisine or to have a drink on a terrace, cinemas and many theatres. The pedestrian streets, the old Nice, Port Lympia, the park of the Château, the Russian Church and the brand new Coulée Verte are important places to visit. 15 minutes away by car or by train, Cannes welcomes you with its Croisette, its beaches, its famous festivals, the old town of Le Suquet, the Forville market and the Rue d’Antibes. The beauty and the variety of landscapes of the hinterlands, the winter sport resorts 1 h away, the Mercantour National Park, the green hills and the small perched villages.
Our recommendation to see and to do on the Côte d’Azur:
Picasso Museum and its terraces overlooking the ramparts of Vauban,
The Lérins Islands (Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat with its monastery),
Maeght Foundation (in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, this museum is nested in a wood of hundred-year-old stone pines where the works of art of the greatest artists (Picasso, Giacometti, etc.) are mixed with the landscape and the views of the valley and the sea),
In Biot, the Verrerie de Biot and the Fernand Léger Museum,
The Vaugrenier Regional Nature Park,
The perched villages (Hauts-de-Cagnes, Aspremont, Saint-Jeannet, Carros-le-Vieux, etc.), t
The Principality of Monaco, Montecarlo and its aquarium and exotic garden,
Théoule-sur-Mer and the Esterel,
The summer music festivals (jazz in Nice, jazz in Juan-les-Pins, Les Heures Musicales in Biot, etc.) and many varied colourful Provencal markets.
With its central location on the Côte d’Azur, Antibes is a human-sized town where it is pleasant to move from a universe to another: from port Vauban to the ramparts, from the narrow streets of the old Antibes to the Islette and Cap d’Antibes and the lighthouse of La Garoupe, this charming small town will give you the opportunity to enjoy your holiday at your own pace. Of course, I am at your disposal by phone and by e-mail to give you advices and answer your information requests before and during your stay.
“Les Toits d’Antibes” welcomes you.
