Our home is a romantic, fully renovated, house from 1870. There is a lot of natural light from windows up in the ceiling, and 4 terrace doors, so it feels like the house and the beautiful garden is one harmonic space. The kitchen is renovated by French people who used to live here, so it has a French country house feel over it. There is a very nice dining area in the kitchen. There is a cosy sofa and a big flatscreen TV, with cable and DVD-player, in the living room. There is a fireplace in the livingroom. The master bedroom has a double bed. In Isabelles room there are two beds, and one of them is an alcove (both beds are 180cm) There is a toilet downstairs, and a bathroom with shower upstairs. We love this house, and hope you will enjoy it here.
We are a couple(38 and 41) with a teenage daughter(14). I work as a teacher, and my husband works as a communicaion advisor. We have one friendly housecat named Hektor.
We work a lot, but we find the time to enjoy the company of our friends, and our hobbies. Our daughter is active with dancing, theater, reading and writing, and film making.I paint, read, run and do Zumba, and enjoy gardening.Per enjoys dokumentaries about art and history together with me.
We all three enjoy seeing artmuseums and historical places on our holidays. I feel really fortunate that my teenage daughter is interested in art, history and culture, and I would like to give her alot of those experiences growing up.
Our home is situated in the heart of Ribe. Ribe is the oldest town in Denmark, and the atmosphere is absolutely fantastic. The old houses and the streams that go through the city gives you a historic and romantic feel. You can shop, just walk around and enjoy the city, or sit in/or in front of, one of the cafes. There is an art museum, a wiking museum with alot of interesting findings from Ribe, an outdoors wiking center with a reconstructed wiking town, swimming facilities outdoor and indoors, and 25 km from here there is one of Denmarks finest and biggest beaches, good for children, and a part of it is for surfing.
If you are interested in history, culture, good food, and a calm and inspiring holiday, Ribe is the place to be.
The closets airport is Billund, and is a 45 min. drive away. In Billund you also find the fun Legoland. I will make sure you will find good tips and inspiration in our home where to go, and our neighbours are all nice people who will love to help you anyway they can. They speak good english.
