Notre maison

My partner and I own a spacious, high-ceilinged, and uncluttered flat in central Copenhagen with lots of old world charm and a great view down a tree-lined street. Our place is 140m2 and is located on the 3rd floor in a newly restored building from 1902. You'll find two large and sunny studies/living rooms, one with a funky wood burning stove, a huge and sunny living room with a table for twelve and a bay window with an inviting sofa-arrangement/extra bed, a kitchen with all amenities (we love to cook), a bedroom with a double bed and a fan, a bathroom with shower, and separate toilet. The living rooms face the lively commercial street HC Ørsteds Vej while the kitchen and bedroom face a green courtyard. There's a splendid view of the Tivoli fireworks and the rooftops of the old Frederiksberg-area and from early morning you'll experience that special Scandinavian light.

The apartment is seven minutes from the Town Hall Square, the famous pedestrian street Strøget, and the bustling and culturally diverse Vesterbro and Nørrebro areas. The artifical lakes are two minutes away, beach is twenty minutes away by bike, and the metro will take you to the old Swedish town of Malmø in forty minutes. There's a bus stop right outside the door and a metro station right around the corner plus various supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, and shops. You're welcome to borrow our bikes if you'd like to experience Copenhagen the Danish way.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We are Annette (56) and Leonora (34), we are a couple, and we are both writers. Annette is a science writer and radio presenter, and I (Leonora) am a published novelist and literary critic. Thus, our home is full of books - and a great many cds. We have neither children nor pets. Annette's parents are Danish, but she grew up in the States, and we have travelled extensively all over Europe, Asia, Africa, Canada, and the Middle East. Since we both work from home we usually take our work with us. The next year and a half I'll be working on my forth novel and Annette will probably start working on a book as well. We're in India from December 22 2010 to February 1 2011, in Scotland from April 10 to May 7 2011, and in Sct. Petersburg from November 1 to December 31 2011. Our apartment is free during these dates and we're open to non-simultaneous exchanges worldwide. Also, we're looking for a home exchange in New York or Middle- South America during Summer. Preferably for a month or two.

Copenhagen is the cultural and architectural hub of Scandinavia and the largest of the Nordic capitals. A beautiful, safe place oozing with atmosphere, history, and that alluring combination of metropolitan life and small town charm. Our flat is located right in the middle of all the fun, in the majestic area of Frederiksberg which is home to the grandious park Frederiksberg Garden (founded in 1830), the Botanical Gardens, the Copenhagen zoo, and some of the city's most spectacular avenues. For centuries, Frederiksberg has been the centre of entertainment and revue and a favourite place for a Sunday outing. If you're familiar with Berlin the area will probably remind you of Prenzlauer Berg or Charlottenburg. Frederiksberg is both a residential area and part of downtown Copenhagen which is very condensed. So you'll be in walking- or biking distance of all the major sights, the five-star restaurants, great museums, parks, trendy cafes, harbour bath, and beaches.
