Notre maison

This is our little piece of paradise. Everyone is astounded of the views we have over the whole central valley of Costa Rica...2 volcanoes right out of our window! And you feel you're sitting among the stars when on the terrace at night, enjoying the outdoor fireplace to warm up our cool mountain air.

The kids are all grown now, so it's time to travel! We like to share with like minded people. It's our primary home, so is furnished with antiques and nice art and books.

Of course, we couldn't get along without Cristina and Mario who are our live in staff. They have been with us over 10 years and can take complete care of you...from cooking to laundry.

We do have three dogs, who all live outside, but Princessa would love to come in and sit awhile if you like.

There's also an outside jacuzzi, and a separate billiards room and bar...

It's been the best place to base ourselves as we've spent the last 15 years exploring Costa Rica.
(If you need a cell phone for the trip we recommend www.celtrek.com Great rates for Costa Rica.)
Hope you can come and enjoy!

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. Our family moved here in 1991 from Boston. Now the kids are gone (Chris a Tufts grad, an engineer, and Allie who is finishing her last year in Environmental policy at Boston University) and we spend most our time in the US. I, Jenny, work producing independent films which keeps me in Los Angeles alot.

We definitely want people here who will be respectful of our staff and kind to our doggies. Enjoy the house, have cocktails on the terrace, smoking outside is OK (although we dont smoke)... we will treat your home equally well.

We love traveling, and travelers who are curious, respectful of different cultures and try to be as "green" as possible. Costa Rica has been super for meeting people like that...

We can certainly chat some more by phone if this all sounds interesting to you.

    Pura vida! Jenny

Bello Horizonte, Escazu, is the perfect suburb of San Jose to begin your exploration of Costa Rica.

We are above the hustle and bustle of this typical Central American city, but only 5 minutes away from a variety of fine restaurants, shopping, clubs, casinos and more.

We live on a quiet street, surrounded by similar houses, which is a rarity in Costa Rica. Our neighbors speak English and this is a foreign friendly place.

Escazu has been the center for the ex-pat community and as such, has really exploded in the last few years with super ethnic food from around the world. Yet just a few minutes up the mountain will find you in tiny little streets of typical Costa Rica from years ago.

Hiking, mountain biking are all close by, and you are a quick 2 hours to the beach, or any of three volcanoes, 3 national parks and river rafting and more.

I guess you can tell we love it here!
