Notre maison

Our apartment will be available from the beginning of April until the end of May 2011. Our block was built in the 1920's, the heyday of the colonial period, in the art-deco style so popular at that time. Despite its age it has recently been renovated in the original style. The apartment has reclaimed wooden floorboards throughout, central heating, central air conditioning, overhead fans in the main rooms, modern bathrooms and spacious bedrooms, high ceilings, large windows, separate access door to the garden, fully furnished, with parking available in the lane. We have loved living here and it really feels like you're living in the 1920's here.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. Hello, we are a family of four and would be interested in a swap with someone from the South of France or Italy. We are from the UK and have been living in Shanghai for the past two years. My wife and I both have our own small creative businesses here. I have an ad agency and my wife is a pretty accomplished lighting designer. she even did the lighting for the UK Expo Pavilion and is doing a big exhibition at the National gallery in Beijing. My two kids, Oscar and Theo, are 4 and 2.5 and head out each day on their little wooden balance bikes to their international kindergarten right round the block. I try to keep up on my electric scooter. Oscar speaks good Mandarin already and Theo doesn't know what he speaks, a bit of a mix I suppose. We love living in Shanghai. It's kind of a dream. But as with all dreams there is a time to wake up. We will be waking at the end of May to return to the UK. We bought a new house near Bristol which is also fabulous, so we may be offering that for exchange later in the year. But one at a time I think. Hope you can swap with us. Best regards, Johnny, Kate, oscar & Theo.

Shanghai is a great and exciting city with lots of things to do. Our nice apartment is very close to all western restaurants, bars and shops. Our street is one of the most sought-after and quietest in Shanghai. It's located in the historic French concession with leafy, tree-lined boulevards. There is also a massage spa at the end of the lane which is worth visiting. All the other occupants of our 3 story house are also from the UK. Our apartment is located down a small lane which is locked at night-time, mind you Shanghai is 100% safe city, so gates aren't even really needed. There is space for parking down the lane and we can arrange that with the gate-keeper. We will give the apartment up at the end of May and return to live in the UK, so that's why it's only available for a short time. Sorry! We hope you can swap with us. best wishes, Johnny, Kate, Oscar & Theo.
