1. Walking Distance
Arpoador – famous sunset over the rocks, very miscellaneous people. Cradle of Brazilian surfing it becomes a surfers point when the waves are going off.
Ipanema Beach – one of the most lively beaches in the world, hosting many different tribes. You can walk all the way toward posto 10 and decide your point. Has it’s street closed for cars on Sundays.
Copacabana Beach – posto 6 usually has calm water where you can swim or can rent canoes and stand-up paddle boards. Going more toward posto 4 you will pass through lots of beach volleyball, beach tennis and Footvolley squares. Has it’s street closed for cars on Sundays.
Forte Copacabana – it is a fortification at posto 6, nice place for having breakfast and walk through for amazing views of Copacabana and the ocean. Also presents a museum with it’s the history of city defense.
Copacabana Palace – at posto 3, beautiful and luxury historic hotel. Open for meals.
Baixo Copacabana – lots of botecos, pubs and restaurants area where people meet frieds for a beer.
Praça General Osorio – presents the Hippie Fair on Sundays.
Shopping Cassino Atlantico – nice antiques shops and Persian carpets on Saturdays.
Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas – nice 7 km walk or bike around the lake. Beaultifull views and good restaurants.

PUC – Beautiful university campus, at Gavea neigborhood.
Vista Chinesa – starting from Rua Pacheco Leao, just beside Parque Jardim Botanico, go up mountain into a preserved national park, for this beautiful city view. It’s located inside Parque da Tijuca, a national park, and is training area for bikers and runners.
Rio is an amazing city regarding all sort of different modalities of sports. Not surprisingly it’s the host city for the 2016 Olympic Games.
Copacabana, Ipanema and Barra have good squares for beach volleybal, foot volley and beach tennis. You can get information on the local about prices for a class or for a day practice.
Altinha is a very fun and tipical sport from Ipanema, played with a soccer ball, the group has to keep the ball up.
Surfing – There is a long coast, from Copacabana all the way to Grumari, the sequence of main surfing points are:
Copacabana (posto 5); Arpoador; Ipanema; Leblon; Left side of São Conrado; Joatinga; Barra da Tijuca (10 km) of different beach breaks; Recreio; Macumba; Prainha; Grumari.
Macumba, Prainha and Grumari are the most consistent waves.

Hang-Gliding – amazing flights living from Pedra Bonita, at São Conrado neighborhood. There are lots of pilots providing the service of a double flight experience. Contact then on the web or go to the right side of São Conrado beach, the landing place.
