Notre maison

We're fortunate to have panoramic views of Jervis Bay and in particular, Collingwood Beach towards Huskisson from a large north-facing covered deck. The eastern fence of the property borders the 2nd hole of Vincentia Golf Course, whilst the southern boundary borders Jervis Bay National Park. There are many bird species that inhabit our very large yard including kookaburras, wedge tail eagles, black cockatoos, lorikeets, parrots & rosellas. We regularly go through our lower gate to have a hit of golf with a few mobs of kangaroos living on or around the course.

There are 3 main living areas, separate dining area, 2 bathrooms, and a lock-up garage. We would make 3 of the 4 bedrooms available to exchange guests.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We have both turned 60 and retired from teaching at the end of 2018. We are looking forward to seeing a bit more of the world. We have 3 sons in their twenties living in Sydney & Melbourne. The Huskisson cottage is not our main residence, so we have the option of non-simultaneous exchanges.

We have enjoyed three teaching exchanges overseas, so we understand the benefits of seeing another country as a resident - and allow someone to see ours.

  2. We love the great outdoors, enjoy new locales and cultures. We are non-smokers .

Localisation

Quartier

Jervis Bay is 2 hours drive south of Sydney. The highway will be dual carriageway except for 20km between Berry and Nowra by December (Completed by 2021). It is a very popular holiday destination for people throughout NSW and hosts many international travellers, due to its white sandy beaches, crystal clear water and wildlife in three nearby National Parks - Jervis Bay, Booderee and Moreton, as well as the Jervis Bay Marine Park. The beaches inside Jervis Bay generally have gentle waves with the bay being ideal for swimming, kayaking, body-boarding, paddle boarding, kite-surfing, sailboarding, snorkelling/SCUBA diving, whale/dolphin watching and fishing. Two or three times a year the local surfers will get some 'Bay swell', although this typically happens in the colder months from June - August.

Huskisson & Vincentia form the hub of the entire Jervis Bay area and are a popular spot in school holidays and weekends for 10 months of the year, particularly Nov - March, being quiet in July & August. Our street is not a thoroughfare so is mostly used by residents, and is only 1km from the nearest of the cafes and restaurants. A walking/cycling path can take visitors along several beaches to both Huskisson & Vincentia, the latter has major supermarkets and other services.
