Notre maison

We have a two storey house with beautiful water views. We have three bedrooms, two have queen size beds and the third bedroom has a double bed.

Each storey has a large sun-deck. In the summer months the upper deck is often used as a living and dining room.

There is also a study with a phone, a computer and a photocopier/ printer.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We are a couple (Michael and Irene) in our 40's with two teenage children Amber (19) and Alec(16). In 2005 we retired after operating a transport business in Hobart. Amber is studying Fine Arts at the local university and Alec is completing his schooling. The children live with us only half the time. To keep ourselves busy these days we write short stories. We spend a lot of time travelling and house swaps are a great way to do this.

Our house is next to a rivulet lined with Eucalyptus and other native trees. Australian birds (kookaburra's, parrots, hawks, black cockatoo's and rosella's) feed in the trees and provide a lovely natural background noise. Our house has two sun-decks. As you lie on the banana lounge listening to the birds it is hard to believe that you are only 7km from the city centre! At night-time, if you walk around our neighbourhood with a torch, you can see possums and bandicoots.

In our yard we have a variety of fruit trees: apple (3 varieties), lemon, lime, plum, peach, nectarine, and pear trees. They fruit January to April.

There is a bus stop a few doors away for buses to Hobart, Kingston and Blackman's Bay. At Kingston you can find sea dragons if you snorkel at the beach. At Wrest Point, 3km from our house toward the city, you can snorkel for sea horses.
