Notre maison

Maranda Country House is a wonderful Australian Colonial Home with traditional Bull Nose Verandahs. Maranda boasts a refreshing salt water pool and a private 4 person spa on the verandah with some of the best views in the Hunter Valley and just 2 hours drive from Sydney.

The accommodation comprises four queen bedrooms made up of a three bedroom house plus a large self contained unit twenty metres from the main house. The main house also has two double sofa beds in the lounge providing comfortable accommodation for 4 to 13 people. If your group is larger why not book both houses as they are only five minutes apart.

The unit is available for bookings in excess of 6 people and comes with queen bed and single sofa bed (sleeps 3) bathroom, TV & video, fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. Sitting between Pokolbin and Wollombi, Broke played a critical role in the development and history of NSW. The area also offers some of the best wining and dining in the State and below we have listed some of our favourites wineries and restaurants. For the golf enthusiasts, there is easy access to two of the most challenging golf courses in Australia: the Vintage and Cypress Lakes.

The village of Broke stands at the base of the Brokenback and Hunter Ranges on the Wollombi Brook. The massive Yellow Rock escarpment stands guard above. The Ranges shelter Broke Fordwich from much of the rainfall that surrounding districts receive. Broke is one of the oldest wine growing areas in Australia Importantly, Broke Fordwich retains its integrity as a rural community remaining free of large scale development yet offering first class B&B and self catering accommodation, restaurants and activities. Visitors to the area are surprised by the amount of wildlife they see. It's rare to visit the area without seeing kangaroos, wombats and a huge range of birds.
