Notre maison

Our two level recently renovated, much loved house is in the storybook suburb of Westgarth/Northcote in the inner North of Melbourne, 5km from Melbourne CBD. We LOVE that everything is at our doorstep: trains to the city, places to eat, an old world cinema, the tranquil surrounds of Melbourne's greatest parks/gardens.

The much loved house offers an upstairs carpeted bedroom and ensuite with modern features including a heated towel rail and bidet system. You can relax and unwind in a queen side Tempur bed with a goose down quilt and high density foam pillows.

The downstairs bathroom offers a large double sink, deep bath and rain-drop shower head system with heated towel rails and toilet.

The newly renovated downstairs kitchen features a French-door fridge, gas oven and cook top, dishwasher, coffee machine and various other appliances.

The living area hosts a large, very comfortable 7 seater leather couch with a HD TV including Netflix, for your entertainment. (Two people can lie comfortably on the couch! :) )

The house is fully heated and wireless Internet is also offered. There is also a private gym in the outdoor building with a cross trainer, dead lift, leg press, chest press and multi function weights machine. Our newly installed in-ground, glass tiled pool in located in the backyard along with a small basketball court area, ring and net system.

You will have access to the house through the front left-hand gate down the side of the main house and then through the bi-folding doors located on the deck. 24hr video surveillance is installed in the outside areas for everyone's security and peace of mind.

  1. My partner Auden and I are in our early thirties and are often kept busy by our two Golden Retrievers. We are both professionals; I am a Primary School Teacher and Auden works in the Accounting and Financial Services Industry. We have both enjoyed a few trips overseas in recent years and have always enjoyed holidays consisting on 'living like a local!' While on holiday we enjoy lots of fresh air, exercise, nature, good food, cycling and a little bit of shopping. We have never swapped houses before but are keen to try this as we have often stayed and preferred to stay in peoples places rather than hotels.

Westgarth village is generally known for its colourful mix of cafes, bars and art culture. Located within a 5 minute walk is the Westgarth shops on High Street, which provides a combination of bars, cafes, restaurants, a chemist, an art deco Cinema- The Palace Westgarth, a fabulously stocked organic grocer, ATM and other miscellaneous shops. A short walk up Ruckers Hill is main High Street (arguably providing the best cityscape view in Melbourne), which is known for its diversity of shops, funky cafes and restaurants. Here you will find food from all around the world and local handmade artisan shops. If you enjoy live music, the Northcote Social Club and various other live music bars are nearby as well as several food vans which serve a variety of food.

The property is across the road from Merri train station; on the South Morang train line (part of the Melbourne Metro train network). This train line will take you into the Melbourne CBD in about 15 minutes. Trams are a few minutes walk away, (Tram no. 86 on High Street) which passes through some of the best and most vibrant cultural parts of Melbourne (including Fitzroy and Collingwood). The area is surrounded by a well designed series of bike paths and parklands, including Merri Creek which leads into the main Yarra River which runs through Melbourne.
