Notre maison

Our house is an Edwardian, but behind the facade you will find that it has a very modern renovation and extension. There is little evidence of a period floorplan except for the 3 bedrooms off the hallway. But then the house turns into a big angular affair with a spacious open-plan rear, which includes kitchen, dining, and living. Bi-fold doors lead to a landscaped garden, full of Australian native plants. There is a BBQ area and another separate shady patio with table and chairs to just sit back and enjoy the garden. As for the sleeping arrangements, there is a double bed, a single bed and a cot. We could borrow another single bed if necessary, and if needed there is also a double blow-up mattress.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We are Bruce and Larissa and we have two small boys. Tom is still a baby so ideally we would be able to swap with someone who has access to a cot/crib. Charlie is 3 so basically we are set up for children those ages. Bruce is a manager and I am lucky enough to be able to stay home with the children. Bruce is a Formula One fanatic and a musician, Charlie is obsessed with Thomas the Tank Engine, while I would love to do more travelling. We have felt it would be too difficult with small children but perhaps doing a house-swap might make it easier.

We live in Northcote, a suburb of Melbourne and very close to the city centre (about 10k away). Within walking distance there is an aquatic and bowling centre, childrens' playgrounds, cycling paths by the river, a small cinema and great restaurants and cafes. Our suburb is quiet with a family atmosphere. Access to trains, buses and trams is pretty good, which can take you to other parts of Melbourne. There is so much here to do: galleries, museums, parks, fantastic shopping, and a huge variety of places to eat and drink. Further on there are wineries, beaches, mountains and rainforests to visit. You will never be bored in Melbourne.
