En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We, Barry & Aila are a retired couple in our late 60's and early 70's who enjoy travelling and experiencing new places and cultures. We sometimes travel with another couple. Our children have long left home with family of their own. We busy ourselves with voluntary work, dining out, movies, art galleries, theatre, playing golf, and watching AFL football when we are not travelling. We would consider shorter exchanges within Australia but would prefer 3 to 4 week overseas exchanges, our preference is for simultaneous exchanges. We are experienced house exchangers, on this site and on 2 other websites. We are open to swapping in Australia at any time. We are open to all offers.

  2. Barry is retired banker and Aila a retired Remedial Massage Therapist.

  3. We love walking, visiting museums, art galleries and experiencing new cultures.

We live in Flagstaff Hill, 16kms from the Adelaide CBD (30 minutes), a quiet tree studded suburb within close proximity of several safe Adelaide beaches along the Gulf St Vincent. Local shopping centre with supermarket, butcher, bakery, newsagent, pharmacist, doctor, dentist and golf course all within a few minutes walk. There is a major shopping mall with department stores and cinemas only 10 minutes away by car/bus. Cleland Conservation Park is 30 minutes away, where you can hand feed kangaroos or cuddle a koala. There are many restaurant/cafe options and the premier wine region of McLaren Vale with its wide range of wineries providing cellar door wine sales and free tasting areas, many with restaurants/cafes, is 20 minutes away. Day trips to the world famous wineries of the Barossa Valley and the mouth of the River Murray (Goolwa, Encounter Bay and Victor Harbor) are possible being about 1 hour away. The day ferry (or overnight stay) to see the wildlife and environment of Kangaroo Island is a must visit . Two public golf courses and tennis options are within 5 minutes of home. March can be a busy time in Adelaide with the Clipsal 500 car race, and the annual Adelaide Fringe Festival or the World recognised Adelaide Festival of Live theatre, Cabaret and lots more happening. There are beaches within 15 minutes drive.

Adelaide's climate is Mediterranean and although hot (30c-45c) in summer (Dec-March) it is usually mild and warm in autumn and spring. Winter daytime temperature is around 15c but can range from 10c-20c.

Adelaide has an average annual rainfall of 20 inches.
