Notre maison

Bonn Abbey is a unique cottage in the perfect location of beautiful Broke. It combines the coolness of stone with the warmth of timber, magnificent cathedral ceilings, making it the perfect destination all year round. Bonn Abbey has been tastefully furnished and consists of 4 double bedrooms (two loft bedrooms) sleeping 8-10. It is perfect for a group of friends or a family holiday. With a lovely rural outlook Bonn Abbey has a gourmet kitchen, large open fire, reverse cycle air conditioning, BBQ, double Spa, large screen TV, video and DVD player and Music CD player. Minutes from the boutique vineyards and olive farms of Broke, 15 minutes to the heart or Pokolbin for the best wine tasting and restaurants in NSW and for the golf enthusiasts, two of the best and challenging golf courses in Australia (the Vintage and Cypress Lakes). While your there, take in one of NSW newest award winning attractions, The Hunter Valley Gardens.

Bonn Abbey has been crafted using unique local stone and recycled timber throughout. Many of the features of this house tell a story, from the leadlight doors from the old Randwick wool sheds beams and posts from the Darling Harbor sheds and the fire place mantle from the old Singleton railway station. Even the kitchen door comes from a 100 year old homestead in the district.

En savoir plus sur nous

  1. We are David & Sue Miniter and have a 12 year old daughter called Holly. We live in Sydney just over the Harbour Bridge in a suburb called Crows Nrest. We have two magnificent houses in the Hunter Valley that we are putting up for home swap which we often stay in at the weekends.

David loves Rugby Union, Fly fishing and movies. Sue loves Snow skiing, theatre and reading and holly enjoys all of the above.

Sitting between Pokolbin and Wollombi, Broke played a critical role in the development and history of NSW. The area also offers some of the best wining and dining in the State and below we have listed some of our favourites wineries and restaurants. For the golf enthusiasts, there is easy access to two of the most challenging golf courses in Australia: the Vintage and Cypress Lakes.

The village of Broke stands at the base of the Brokenback and Hunter Ranges on the Wollombi Brook. The massive Yellow Rock escarpment stands guard above. The Ranges shelter Broke Fordwich from much of the rainfall that surrounding districts receive. Broke is one of the oldest wine growing areas in Australia.

Importantly, Broke Fordwich retains its integrity as a rural community remaining free of large scale development yet offering first class B&B and self catering accommodation, restaurants and activities.

Visitors to the area are surprised by the amount of wildlife they see. It's rare to visit the area without seeing kangaroos, wombats and a huge range of birds.
