En savoir plus sur nous

  1. My name is Melissa and I live with my husband, Warren and our 4 year old daughter, Evie. We are in our mid 40s and Warren also has 2 teenage children from a previous marriage. My husband is a steel and aluminium fabricator and I at present I am at home looking after our daughter. I lived in England and Spain for some years before I met and married my husband 5 years ago. My husband has not travelled overseas before so we are looking forward to some adventures together with Evie some day. We are primarily looking to travel in 2009, but of course this may change over time.

We live 40 minutes from Cairns which is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. Kuranda is a rainforest village in the Cairns Highlands so even though we live in the tropics being away from the coast means that we do not experience the high levels of humidity as Cairns itself does. Living in the tropics means we have a wet season and a dry season. The wet season is our summer and the dry season is our winter. We even have a fireplace for use in the dry season at night as it cools down quite a bit though the daytime temperatures are quite divine. Our house is on 4.5 acres of land and there is an abundance of wildlife from green tree frogs, to parrots, to wallabies and the occasional python. We also have pet ducks, chickens and peacocks. There is also a pair of wild ducks who visit us most days.
